Vilnius, Lithuania, May 1, 2015. The Credit24 Arena, a facility which has already played host to a number of international Beach Volleyball tournaments and that is situated right at the heart of Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius, will welcome back the 2014-2016 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup for one of eight 3rd Round tournaments. This same venue had already hosted one of the 1st Round events last year where the home heroines of Lithuania topped the charts thereby making it straight to Round 3. This time the matches on schedule for Pool F will start on Saturday, May 2 and continue through to Sunday with the eventual winners moving on straight to the finals next year whilst the second and third-placed teams will continue their journey via the 4th Round coming up later this summer.

Moscow, Russia, May 1, 2015. Dinamo KAZAN redeemed a fairly disappointing European season – the 2014 gold medallists were eliminated in the Playoffs 12 of this year’s CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – by taking their fifth consecutive title in the Russian Superleague. Dinamo KAZAN edged their arch-rivals of Dinamo MOSCOW by three victories to none in the Championship series with their third and deciding win coming after a much disputed match that ended at the tie-break (26-28, 25-16, 25-19, 20-25, 15-6). As for Dinamo MOSCOW, the team from Russia’s capital had to be content with the sixth silver medal in their club history.

Baden, Austria, April 30, 2015. Russia’s women completed their perfect run at the 3rd Round – Pool B tournament at Strandbad in Baden to claim a spot in the final stage of the 2014-2016 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup which is scheduled for next year. The Russian pairs did so by edging past their Ukrainian opponents without dropping a set. Meanwhile, on court 2 Scotland celebrated a historic achievement since by besting Bulgaria at the ‘golden match’ they secured their participation in the 4th Round of the competition coming up later this summer.

Riga, Latvia, April 29, 2015. The 2015 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship will get started this year with the inaugural Jurmala Masters which is set to take place in Latvia s most popular seaside resort from May 20 through 24. This is going to be by far the most important Beach Volleyball event ever held in one of the Baltic States as it will gather a good share of Europe s elite in the sport. The tournament is also the first stop of this year s CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship which will then continue with the much anticipated Final in Klagenfurt and the Biel/Bienne Masters in Switzerland.

Fuzhou, China, April 22, 2015. On Wednesday Azerbaijan’s Iuliia Karimova/Raquel Goncalves Ferreira progressed to the 2015 FIVB Beach Volleyball Fuzhou Open main draw in only their third major tournament. The first FIVB tournament of the season also opens the Olympic qualification window for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.
