Russia achieves first victory at Tokyo finals

Tokyo, Japan, August 21, 2014.  Russia achieved its first victory at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Final Six in Tokyo.  On the second competition day, the Russians shut out fellow Europeans from Belgium, while the third team from the Old Continent, Turkey, lost to host Japan by the same result.

Russia wins XII Wagner Memorial in Krakow

Krakow, Poland, August 19, 2014.  The men’s national team of Russia won the twelfth edition of the Hubert Wagner Memorial tournament that took place in Krakow.  Host Poland and the teams of Bulgaria and China also took part in the 3-day competition on the eve of the FIVB Volleyball World Championship Poland 2014.

2014 CEV U19 Volleyball European Championship for women in Tartu

Tartu, Estonia, August 17, 2014. The Czech Republic struck Bulgaria in four sets (25-20, 25-17, 20-25, 25-17) on the second day of Preliminary Round action in Pool I of the 2014 CEV U19 Volleyball European Championship – Women at Tartu’s A. Le Coq Sports Hall on Sunday afternoon. Serbia proved too strong for Greece (25-20, 25-13, 25-16) to improve their records to 2-0 while the Netherlands beat Estonia in straight sets as well (25-21, 25-21, 25-10).
