Toms Smedins and Reinis Pekmanis triumphed at EEVZA Lithuania Open

Rokiškis, Lithuania, July 6, 2014. Latvia s Toms Smedins and Reinis Pekmanis during 2 days of EEVZA Lithuania Open tournament in Rokiškis remained unbeaten and won the competition defeating Russia s Ruslan Bykanov / Nikita Liamin by 3:1 (15:8, 8:15, 16:14, 15:7) in the final. The bronze medals went to Estonia s Kristo Kollo and Rivo Vesik after the injury of Lukas Každailis, the member of the only one home team qualified to the semifinals.

Men’s semifinals in Rokiškis defined with only 1 home team left

Rokiškis, Lithuania, July 4, 2014. The first day at the Lithuania Open in Rokiškis was marked by a serie of one-hour long five-setters and some suprising victories. A total of eight teams represented the host country but only one – Arnas Rumševičius and Lukas Každailis managed to get among the top 8. Kristo Kollo / Rivo Vesik from Estonia and Toms Smedins / Reinis Pekmanis from Latvia, having no defeats have qualified directly to the semifinals. The other teams within the top 8 are Aliaksandr Dziadkou / Aliaksandr Kavalenka (Belarus), Martins Plavins / Aleksandrs Solojev (Latvia), Ruslan Bykanov / Nikita Liamin (Russia), Iaroslav Gordieiev / Vladyslav Iemelianchyk (Ukraine), Rain Raud / Karl Jaani (Estonia).

Lithuania ready for another big international beach volleyball competition

Rokiškis, Lithuania, July 4, 2014. For the first time Rokiškis, the city in the northeastern Lithuania, will host the EEVZA Men s Beach Volleyball competition with the Lithuania Open tournament to be held on the 4 – 6 of July. As Lithuania celebrates the Statehood Day, the coronation day of King Mindaugas on the 6th of July, Lithuania Open tournament is being dedicated to this event.

Exciting day in Vilnius ends with Estonia and Cyprus on top

Vilnius, Lithuania, June 29, 2014. Estonia took the first place in Pool F of the 2014-2016 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup s first round after a dramatic victory over Cyprus in the final match-up in Vilnius. Both teams made it directly to the third round after winning Sunday s semifinals against Lithuania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, respectively. These two teams, along with fifth-placed Moldova will have to go through the second round later this summer.
