Winners of Russian national championship qualify for historic EuroSnowVolley

Monday 8th of January 2018

Zelenogorsk, Russia, January 7, 2018. The second edition of the Russian Snow Volleyball Championship reached its climax on Sunday at Pukhtolova Gora ski resort in the Leningrad Region, crowning the eventual winners of the tournament – and at the same time the first teams to qualify for the inaugural CEV Snow Volleyball European Championship due to take place from March 23-25 in Wagrain-Kleinarl and Flachau, Austria.

Yury Bogatov/Pavel Rakusov and Lyudmila Dayanova/Maria Ushkova claimed men’s and women’s gold respectively. Bogatov already has quite some experience when it comes to Snow Volleyball since last winter he won the stop of the CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour held at Plan de Corones / Kronplatz, Italy along with Ruslan Dayanov as well as an invitational tournament held in Iran.

Russia will obviously be a force to reckon with when action takes place in Austria with Bogatov vying for what would be a historic gold medal to go with his title from Kronplatz 2017.
