Volleyball festival organised in Yerevan on Victory Day
Yerevan, Armenia, May 9, 2017. On Tuesday, a mass sports festival took place at Azatutyun square in conjunction with the celebrations for Victory Day organised in the Armenian capital, Yerevan. Around 60 young Volleyball players took part in the event. All teams enjoyed competing at the festival organised by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs and the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA), with all participants returning home with balls donated by the VFA.
The next such festival will take place on May 28 at the very same venue.
On May 12-14, the Volleyball Federation of Armenia will organise a seminar for physical education teachers from a number of Armenian schools. The participants will receive sports equipment and education in Volleyball coaching. VFA Secretary General Karen Asmaryan pointed out that he came up with the idea of hosting such a workshop after the CEV launched their “Volleyball at School” project earlier this year.
