Two-day clinic helps streamline communication strategy ahead of women’s EuroVolley

Friday 14th of July 2017

Baku, Azerbaijan, July 14, 2017. The key staff responsible for media and communications at the 2017 women’s EuroVolley came together on Thursday and Friday at the local Development Centre in Baku for a two-day seminar attended by representatives of the national Organising Committees established in Azerbaijan and Georgia as well as by CEV Press Officer, Federico Ferraro.

It was an opportunity to review what the organisers have done and achieved so far with almost two months to go to the start of the historic championship that Azerbaijan and Georgia will co-host this coming September as well as to streamline the communication strategy and align it with the vision of the CEV leadership. The extensive use of social and digital media will help promote the competition towards a global audience, whilst also taking the opportunity of providing international exposure to Azerbaijan and Georgia as the countries hosting Europe’s premier Volleyball event.

The CEV Communications Department and the local media staff will work closely together in the coming weeks to raise the profile of the championship and bring this real Volleyball party closer to the fans, with a focus on the stars of the game.

Baku, Ganja/Göygöl and Tbilisi will host the pool stage of the tournament, before the competition continues in Baku only with Playoffs, quarterfinals, semis and medal matches, with the new ‘queens of European Volleyball’ emerging on October 1 at the iconic National Gymnastics Arena.
