Sunday 10th of September 2017

Tbilisi, Georgia, September 10, 2017. Georgia women’s national team continue their preparations ahead of the historic 2017 women’s EuroVolley their country will co-host together with Azerbaijan later this month. Georgia will make their historic debut in the competition on September 22 when playing Italy before a partisan home crowd in Tbilisi.

The Georgian team travelled on August 31 to Gliwice, Poland to participate in the international tournament AZS / Degie Cup, which featured a number of clubs from several countries. The Georgian players and coaching staff spent three days in a training camp on Polish soil before taking part in the four-day-long competition.

Georgia coach Paata Ulumbelashvili is satisfied with the performance and results achieved in Gliwice, but especially with the team’s physical and technical condition.

Georgia now look forward to the 2017 women’s EuroVolley matches scheduled for September 22-24 in Tbilisi where, after taking on Italy, they will play the national teams of Croatia and Belarus for a spot in the elimination phase of the tournament.
